Lorraine Hariton

Former President & CEO, Catalyst

Lorraine Hariton is an experienced CEO and Board member working with organizations on businesses strategy and development. She helps lead organizations to faster growth and profitability, and build more powerful brand equity and intellectual capital.

Lorraine served as President & CEO of Catalyst from August 2018 to April 2024. Catalyst is a global nonprofit working with the world’s most powerful CEOs and leading companies to help build workplaces that work for women.

At Catalyst, she demonstrated her ability to transform organizations and reinvigorate businesses, teams, bottom lines, and purpose. 

She navigated with agility through the pandemic, originating critical thought leadership around equity and inclusion. She has leveraged her technology background to pivot Catalyst to virtual prominence rapidly, both internally and externally. She also helped to build the Catalyst board, which has over 30 Fortune 500 company CEOs.

Lorraine spent the first 15 years of her career at IBM where she rose though the sales and marketing ranks to leadership. She held executive roles at Verifone and NCD in sales, marketing, and strategy, and was one of the top women executives in Silicon Valley before becoming CEO of two technology startups and raising $50 million in venture capital. In 2009, she leveraged her business leadership skills to the benefit of the US Department of State as Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs. There she represented US business around the world and launched the highly successful Global Entrepreneurship Program. She then joined the NY Academy of Sciences and launched their Global STEM Alliance.

Lorraine has served on numerous public, private and nonprofit boards including Quotient Technologies (NYSE:QUOT) and Wave Technologies (NASDAQ:Wav). She is an Honorary Director of Catalyst and serves on the advisory board of Next Table, Girls with Impact, CNEXT, the Hagley Museum and Library and the Wiki Education Foundation. She was the first recipient of the Women’s Leadership Award from the UVA Darden School of Business.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. She resides in New York City and enjoys biking, pickleball, travel and spending time with her grandchildren.
