Helen Alderson is International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) head of regional delegation to the UK and Ireland, where she is responsible for the ICRC's operational responsibilities as well as diplomatic relations with key government ministries, the armed forces and other senior influencers. 

Helen has had a varied international career in humanitarian affairs. She has worked for UNICEF in Africa, the ICRC in Asia, the Middle East and at headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to taking up her position at head of the ICRC in London, she was a member of the organization’s leadership team in Geneva overseeing finance, fundraising and logistics. Beyond the ICRC Helen has worked in public health, serving as CEO of the World Heart Federation, as well as in socially responsible investment having worked as a senior analyst for the Ethos Investment Foundation for Sustainable Development.
