Amira El-Aghel
Student Trustee, Montessori Institute
A mother to four beautiful children each different and unique in their own way. Her children’s early years journey opened the doors for Amira to explore childcare and child development. Amira's first post was teaching English (EAL teacher) in Libya, she then went on to pursue a position as a teaching assistant at The British school of Tripoli working with the early years.
Exploring the world of early years she was drawn to The Montessori ethos as she watched her two youngest boys learn and flourish at Montessori settings. Amira was inspired at this point in her life to work and achieve her Montessori diploma from MCI, she then continued to complete her foundation degree and now she finds herself back in education completing her final year of the BA Hons in Early years childhood studies.
Amira is passionate about young children being given the best possible start in life, and believes that the Montessori education should be accessible to all families of all levels of income in all parts of the world.
Amira is currently working on a project as deputy head with an early year’s charity run organisation introducing the Montessori ethos and curriculum to an already outstanding provision providing the Montessori environment to a mainstream setting.
Amira also volunteers with the Landmark worldwide organisation as coach on their self-expression and leadership program empowering others to living powerful lives that they love
